Real Life Discipleship Review #2
Intentional Leadership
As we continue our review of what it means to be a disciple-maker, we need to remember that one key to effectiveness is Intentional Leadership.
That means several things for us:
–We need to see ourselves as “player-coaches.” We need to help keep our people trained and motivated to take next steps in discipleship.
–We need to walk around with intentional discipleship eyes. We need to pay attention to where people are in their faith and keep in mind what challenges we need to present to them to help them take next steps of faith.
–We also need to remember :
–God’s Part: God is faithful in challenging people to discipleship and producing fruit in their lives.
–Our Part: We need to be faithful in helping, guiding, and supporting people in their next steps if faith, but we can’t make people grow if they are unwilling.
–Their Part: People who are growing in faith need to be faithful in pursuing God and taking responsibility for their own faith.
When these three areas are honored, people will see tremendous growth in their faithfulness
